Senior Citizen's Advisory Commission

Established in 1967, the Commission is an independent body comprised of 15 members. Each Town Council member appoints seniors to represent and advocate for our Senior constituents on issues that can impact their quality of life. While not officially a part of the Senior Citizens Division, the Commission provides valuable input and offers recommendations to the Commissioner and the Town Council.

The commission meets at Town Hall in Farmingville on the third Friday of each month.

For more information, or to explore opportunities for joining, call: 631-451-9191.

Mission Statement:
The mission of the Senior Citizen Advisory Commission is to act in an advisory capacity to the Town of Brookhaven Town Board in all matters related to the physical, emotional and economic well being of seniors and to encourage seniors to participate in all aspects of community life, to the best of their ability. Town of Brookhaven senior services will be offered to all seniors regardless of race, creed or nation origin.

The Advisory Commission will seek out, advocate and recommend ways to bridge the gaps, on behalf of the under informed, and potential users of existing services.
