Brookhaven Animal Shelter

Low Cost Spay/Neuter

Each year nationally, up to 50% of cats and dogs that enter shelters will end up dying because there is no one to adopt them.

Pet overpopulation is a very serious issue, spaying or neutering your pet means you are part of the solution not part of the problem. Spaying and neutering helps dogs and cats live longer, healthier lives. It can eliminate or reduce a number of health problems including cancer (breast, ovarian, testicular and prostate) in both male and female pets.

Recognizing the importance of spaying and neutering, the shelter works with many other groups to try and help give pet owners options when looking for low cost spaying and neutering. We also offer a certificate program for the spaying/neutering of feral cats which allows residents in the Town of Brookhaven to get feral cats spayed/neutered for free.
