Drug Prevention Coalition

Drug Prevention Coalition LogoSubstance use and abuse is on the rise in our country and presents a serious national and local problem within communities. There are many efforts underway to prevent and stop substance use. One effort is the creation of a community coalition. The Drug Prevention Coalition was formed in 2017 and consists of over 12 stakeholder community groups working toward reducing youth substance abuse in the Three Village, Port Jefferson, and Comsewogue communities (Council District 1 and Legislative District 5).

The coalition sponsors and co-sponsors drug prevention educational events and holds free community events targeted toward youth and their families. In 2019, the Coalition was formalized by Town of Brookhaven resolution.
