Town of Brookhaven Redistricting Committee
In order to comply with Chapter 27 of the Town Code, the Town Board created a Redistricting Committee at the May 12 Town Board Meeting pursuant to Chapter 27-7B.(3.) to conduct a study to propose to the Town Board appropriate revisions to the boundaries of the Town Council Districts so that each district will contain substantially equal citizen populations.
The Redistricting Committee, pursuant to Chapter 27-7C.(1) consisting of eight voting members, will review and/or analyze and provide a proposal to the Town Board, using the Federal Census information and election districts determined by the Board of Elections, in accordance with aforesaid Chapter 27.

Resolution 2022-389 from the May 12, 2022 Town Board Meeting was unanimously approved and sponsored by the entire Town Board: "Authorization to Create and Appoint a Redistricting Committee to Conduct a Study to Propose to the Town Board of the Town of Brookhaven Appropriate Revisions to the Boundaries of the Town Council Districts so that Each District will Contain Substantially Equal Citizen Populations".
