The facility is designed to offer children instruction in Traffic Safety as well as pedestrian and bicycle safety. Brookhaven’s Safety Town is a replica of a miniature village with an indoor educational facility. Program participants receive classroom instruction, followed by hands-on experience using bicycles and miniature electric vehicles.
School districts are invited to schedule field trips for third grade classes. During the summer months, classes are available for local Boy and Girl Scout troops, as well as individuals. In addition, Safety Town hosts Bicycle Safety Rodeos, Car Seat Inspections as well as a Teen Driver Survival Training program for teenagers 15 and older.
