The Town of Brookhaven’s wheelchair program consists of many wheelchair accessible activities. Some sports offered are:
- Adaptive swimming
- Hand cycling
- Table tennis
- Weight lifting
These programs run all year round at various Town of Brookhaven facilities. These programs are offered free of charge with the exception of the bowling program.
The wheelchair program also offers handicap awareness days. If your school (within the Town of Brookhaven) would like to host an awareness day, a representative from the Town of Brookhaven will come to speak to your students about handicap awareness and safety.
On the junior high and high school level, wheelchairs will be brought to the school so that students can participate in wheelchair basketball games. Check out all the information for each program listed below as well as the Town Calendar for additional times and dates. If you have any questions please call 631-451-6992 or Email the wheelchair program.
