Safe Summer Program

These Safe Summer outreach programs provide a safe, drug and alcohol free area for late middle and high school aged youth to socialize on summer evenings. The program is offered in several locations each summer. Program will begin mid-July and run through late August. See flyers for specific dates and times.

Cedar Beach, Mount Sinai

Thursday nights: July 11, 18, 25, August 1, 8
7:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Martha Avenue Park, Bellport

Next to the ball fields on Martha Avenue in Bellport. Come down and hangout with friends for the night! Free snacks, music and basketball. View Flyer

Mastic Athletic Complex

Participating Agencies

This project works in cooperation with the Suffolk County Police Department and local community organizations. Suffolk County Police Officers and Town Youth workers are on hand to oversee the safety of the sites. The Safe Summer Program is coordinated with the efforts of youth agencies, chambers of commerce and other organizations working together to provide safe activities for youth.


Seasonal employment is available for young adults during the months of July and August for ReGeneration Camp and the Safe Summer Program through the Brookhaven Youth Bureau. If you are interested in this opportunity, please call Josephine Lunde at 631-451-8026.
