The Department of Housing and Human Services is responsible for administering the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) and Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS (HOPWA). Funding for these programs is provided by the United States (US) Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The CDBG Program is funded through an annual budget of approximately $2.2 million that is used to fund various projects including the Affordable Housing Program, Housing Rehabilitation, parks and public works improvements, and various youth and family counseling services. HOME funds with an annual budget of approximately $950K are used for the First Time Home Buyers Assistance Program.
