About Program

This program is designed to help unemployed and under-employed women gain professional skills, accelerate their job search and build confidence through weekly training sessions, one-on-one career coaching and networking in a supportive environment.

The six-session program will cover:

  • Strategies to succeed in today’s job market
  • Customizing and composing your resumé and cover letters that will make a difference
  • Work with a professional career mentor
  • Navigating LinkedIn and other social media for job leads, and much more

Participants will also have the opportunity to work one-on-one with professional career coaches and build a personal network in a small, supportive environment with other women.

When and Where

When

The session dates are September 19 (orientation) and 26, October 2, 10, 17, 24 and 31 (graduation) from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.

Where

The Career EDGE sessions will be held in the second floor Planning Conference Room at Brookhaven Town Hall, One Independence Hill in Farmingville.

In-Person

In-person registration is Wednesday, September 12 in the Division of Women’s Services second floor office at Brookhaven Town Hall from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.
