Farmingville, NY – On December 1, Councilwoman Jane Bonner (left) visited the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe in Shoreham to meet with Boy Scout Joshua Louser (right) from Troop 1776 of Mount Sinai who recently completed his Eagle Scout project. Joshua has been interested in the work of famed electrical engineer Nikola Tesla since middle school, so for his project, he raised the funds, designed and built a mobile sign that the center will use to inform the community about upcoming events. He expects to officially attain the rank of Eagle Scout at a ceremony in the spring 2019. For more information about the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe, visit the Tesla Science Center website.
Councilwoman Bonner said, “Congratulations to Joshua for completing his project and achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. The new sign will certainly help to promote all the events offered at the center Eagle Scouts are the leaders of tomorrow and after meeting Joshua, I can see that we’ll be in very good hands."
Since the award was presented in 1912, no more than four percent of all Scouts have attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than two million young men.
