Farmingville, NY – Recently, Councilman Michael Loguercio shared the holiday spirit at VFW Post 8300 in Bellport and the Veterans Place in Yaphank when he delivered bags of food that he collected for local veterans in need. He thanked the veterans for all they have done in service to the country and wished them a happy and healthy holiday season. The Veterans Place Emergency shelter provides essential support services for homeless veterans. There are also full-time case managers who are responsible for assisting homeless veterans in overcoming critical obstacles to their attainment of drug/alcohol free, self-sufficient, and independent lifestyles. For more information about the Veterans Place, call 631-924-8088.

Councilman Loguercio said, “During this holiday season it is important that we remember those who have given so much to their country and community. These folks risked their lives with their service, so that we may enjoy the freedoms that sometimes are taken for granted. As a Gold Star family member, I am personally grateful for all that they have sacrificed to protect our country.”
