Councilwoman Bonner Honors Mt. Sinai Resident Marie Mack on Her 100th Birthday

Maria Mack and Jane Bonner

Farmingville, NY –  On January 27, Councilwoman Jane Bonner joined family and friends of Marie Mack to celebrate her 100th birthday at the Sonoma Grill in Holtsville. Mrs. Mack, who was born on January 18, 1919, is a resident of Mt. Sinai, where she has been living in the house her father purchased in 1924 (during the summers only from 1923-1968 and then full time since 1969). From 1908-1922, the house served as the Mt. Sinai Post Office and General Store. During World War II, Mrs. Mack was an Air Raid Warden. She is the mother to 6 children and she has 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She has a collection of over 1,000 bells, loves going for a drive on a sunny day and travels wherever her children will take her. She loves family celebrations, especially Christmas and her birthday. She likes to tell stories of "how it used to be" and has many photo albums and scrapbooks dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Councilwoman Bonner said, “I was very happy to share Marie’s special day with so many people who love her. She may be 100 years old, but she is young at heart and a great reminder of how we all should live life to the fullest. It warms my heart to know her.”
