Farmingville, NY – On January 24, Supervisor Ed Romaine (second from left) and members of the Town Council attended the induction ceremony of the Brookhaven Youth Court at the Boys and Girls Club of the Bellport Area. The court is one of five Town Youth Courts in Suffolk County. It is a diversionary program to keep youthful offenders out of the Family Court system and give them a second chance. The Brookhaven Youth Court was created through a collaboration between the Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau and the Boys and Girls Club of the Bellport Area in 1997.
