Farmingville, NY – Town of Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine, Councilman Michael Loguercio and officials of the Brookhaven Town Industrial Development Agency (IDA) joined the owners of Northeast Quartz Inc./Penn Fabricators for a ribbon cutting and tour of the company’s new facility. The 22,000-square-foot plant, located at 30 Platinum Blvd. in Medford, was completed with economic assistance from the IDA. Land costs and the cost of construction totaled $5.275 million.The company owners, Robert and Theresa Penn, consolidated operations from Yaphank and Holbrook to the new facility and plan to grow from 63 to 73 full-time equivalent workers. This third-generation family business is a wholesale fabricator of DuPont brand Corian and Zodiaq quartz countertops. The company is expanding into the fabrication of Dekton material, a high-tech, quartz-based product developed by Spain’s Consentino Group that is used for indoor paneling and outdoor siding.
