Farmingville, NY –  Supervisor Ed Romaine has announced that the Brookhaven Town Youth Bureau’s INTERFACE Coat Drive collected more than 700 coats, and over 300 pairs of winter boots, hats, gloves and scarves. The items, generously donated by residents, have been distributed to several shelters, churches and agencies. This year’s coat drive ran from January 14 through February 15.

“This program makes a difference by helping residents in need stay warm during the winter months,” said Supervisor Ed Romaine. “Every year the Youth Bureau does an excellent job of distributing coats and other cold weather apparel to those in need as contributions come in throughout the drive.”

Councilman Michael Loguercio, Town Board Liaison to the Youth Bureau said, “It is heartwarming to see the number of coats, hats, scarves and gloves that residents contribute to this drive. Thank you to the Youth Bureau for their efforts and all the generous people who helped make this drive a tremendous success.”
