Farmingville, NY – On March 16, Councilman Michael Loguercio honored William Henry Langan from Troop 187 during the Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony held at the Middle Island Presbyterian Church in Ridge. William’s Eagle Scout project was the construction of a meditation garden in memory of his late uncle on the grounds of the church.
At the ceremony, Councilman Loguercio said, “Congratulations to Billy, as I am certainly proud of you achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. You are a wonderful example for your fellow scouts to follow and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.”
Since the award was presented in 1912, no more than four percent of all Scouts have attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than two million young men.
