Farmingville, NY –  On March 16, Councilman Michael Loguercio met at Lily Lake in Yaphank with members of Girl Scout Troop 844 who wanted to do something to help the environment. They joined the Councilman to volunteer their time to collect and remove debris from the shoreline. The girl scouts, who were with their troop leader, Christine McClure, collected several large bags of debris to be properly disposed. In addition to Councilman Loguercio, Town of Brookhaven Chief Environmental Analyst Anthony Graves and the Town’s Environmental Educator Nicole Pocchiare were there to assist in the cleanup.

Councilman Loguercio said, “I cannot thank these young ladies enough for what they did today. This is a beautiful lake and working together with members of the community, we will return this lake to its original beauty for all to enjoy. Thank you to Nicole and Anthony from our Environmental Department for all their assistance today.”
