Councilwoman Bonner Attends Substance Abuse and Mental Health Community Forum at Rocky Point HS

Farmingville, NY –  On April 10, Councilwoman Jane Bonner joined with staff from the Town’s Youth Bureau at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Community Forum held at Rocky Point High School. The event was designed for students from grades 6 to 12 and parents to learn more about the topic and gather valuable information and material for them to take home. Pictured left to right are Town Department of Housing and Human Services Executive Assistant Frank Petrignani; Youth Bureau Counselor Lizabeth Derkevics; Councilwoman Bonner; Rocky Point High School Director of Health and Physical Education Charles M. Delargy and Rocky Point Union Free Schools Superintendent Michael F. Ring.

Councilwoman Bonner said, “Substance abuse and mental health go hand-in-hand, so this event was very helpful to those who took part. The Town’s Youth Bureau is dedicated to helping youngsters navigate through life and make the right choices that will lead them into adulthood. I commend their work to help educate the community and wholeheartedly support their efforts.”
