Councilwoman Bonner Joins Volunteers at Wading River-Shoreham Earth Day Clean Up

Farmingville, NY –  On April 28, Councilwoman Jane Bonner (back row, center) was on hand with volunteers of all ages at the Wading River Shoreham Chamber of Commerce sponsored Earth Day Clean Up. The event was kicked-off at the Shoppes at East Wind in Wading River. After a ceremony and safety briefing, the group broke off into teams to clean up the local beaches and the road sides under the guidance of police and fire department escorts. All supplies, including bags, gloves, pickers and tee-shirts were provided by the Town of Brookhaven’s Department of Recyclables and Sustainable Materials Management and the Town of Riverhead. The event was held as part of the Great Brookhaven Clean Up scheduled for Saturday, May 18. Visit www.brookhavenny.gov for more information and to register.
