Farmingville, NY -  On May 4, Councilwoman Valerie M. Cartright (fifth from left) joined hundreds of walkers to raise money for the Fortunato Breast Health Center and breast cancer services at Mather Hospital’s 25th annual Families Walk for Hope. This annual five-mile event took walkers through scenic Port Jefferson and Belle Terre and included a health fair, music, the popular “Pink Your Pooch” costume contest and raffles. Participants also enjoyed music from the Hackensack Men and exhibits by the U.S. Army, Suffolk Police COPE unit, Port Jefferson Fire Department and Northwell’s Sky Health helicopter.

Councilwoman Cartright said, “Thank you to the Fortunato Breast Center for all of the work they do to support breast cancer patients. We are appreciative that we have such a valuable resource in our community to provide holistic health care options to those in need.”
