Farmingville, NY - On May 11, Councilman Michael Loguercio (left photo, left) attended the Longwood Day and Relay for Life at Longwood High School. The events were held in conjunction with each other, and the community came out to once again support them. Longwood Day is an annual event that brings the Longwood community together with ongoing student performances and events throughout the day, vendors of all types and community organizations providing information to the residents.
The Councilman also spoke at the Relay for Life event (pictured at right), where he welcomed and thanked everyone who came out to support the fight against cancer. He asked while we walk our laps, that we remember those who have passed and those who are still battling cancer.
Councilman Loguercio said, “Cancer has affected almost every family that I know, including my own. We have to continue to support this cause and raise awareness, to one day find a cure and eliminate cancer as a diagnosis for anyone. Having these two events held on the same day afforded the community the ability to show their support to both great events.” ”
