Farmingville, NY -  On June 1, Councilman Michael Loguercio joined Longwood Junior High School students who were picking up trash and other debris along Longwood Road in Middle Island. The efforts were part of the Town’s “Great Brookhaven Cleanup,” which is held every spring.

Councilman Loguercio said, “When we work together and each do a little, the reward is that much greater. Thank you again to all of the Longwood Junior High students for helping to clean up our community today.” The great Brookhaven Clean Up, which was co-sponsored by the Town of Brookhaven's Department of Recycling and Sustainable Materials and Keep America Beautiful, Inc., is held at various locations throughout Brookhaven Town. It is part of a national effort that draws over 5 million volunteers in more than 20,000 communities across America who come together to pick up litter and clean miles of roadways, rivers, lakes, and more.
