Farmingville, NY - On October 14, Supervisor Ed Romaine and Councilwoman Valerie M. Cartright attended the 50th anniversary of the Comsewogue Public Library where they presented a Certificate of Congratulations in commemoration of the milestone event. Fifty years ago, the library began operation in a portable classroom at the former Comsewogue Elementary School and a year later the community voted to approve construction of a permanent library building at its current location. Over the years, the library expanded to accommodate the growing population of the district. During the 50th anniversary celebration, the Library's community meeting room was dedicated to Richard Lusak, who served as the Library's first Director from 1966 to 2002.
