Farmingville, NY - On June 13, nearly 300 job seekers attended the eighth annual BBAC Job Fair held at Brookhaven Town Hall. The free event, which was sponsored by the Division of Economic Development and the Brookhaven Business Advisory Council (BBAC), gave job hunters the opportunity to meet face-to-face with representatives from 63 companies in and around Brookhaven who are looking to hire qualified candidates for a wide range of positions. The companies and institutions that participated in the Job Fair included New York Life; DiCarlo Distributors; Walmart; Long Island Community Hospital; Suffolk County Police Department; US Army and more. About the Brookhaven Business Advisory Council (BBAC)
The BBAC serves as the business liaison to the Supervisor and Town Board. The council is comprised of business owners and professionals who serve on a volunteer basis. The Council’s key function is to assist Town government by disseminating information to and from the business communities. They also help to compile information on business in Brookhaven Town and develop and implement public information programs to educate the business community regarding outreach programs and assistance available to them.
