Councilwoman Cartright Celebrates the 4th of July in District 1

Councilwoman Cartright in 4th of July Parade

Farmingville, NY -  On July 4, 2019, Councilwoman Valerie M. Cartright celebrated Independence Day at the annual Port Jefferson community parade which featured numerous local fire departments, civic, chamber, fraternal and community service organizations. Creative floats, live music and dancing and plenty of patriotic spirit was on display as the parade wound its way from Sheep Pasture Road down Main Street to the harbor.

"The democracy that we cherish only works because of community participation," Councilwoman Cartright said. "Members of our Rotary Clubs, civic associations, community service organizations, those who go to government meetings to speak out about issues that matter to them and those that advocate for a particular cause make up the fabric of America. Thank you to everyone for your community and civic involvement. You help make our Brookhaven and CD1 communities the amazing places they are."
