Farmingville, NY -  On Thursday, July 11th, Brookhaven Town Councilman Dan Panico presented a Certificate of Recognition to members of the William Floyd Community Summit Beautification Committee for their efforts in securing a bronze decorative statue that was recently installed near the entrance of Osprey Park in Mastic Beach. The statue, which depicts a child holding a bird, had been previously located at Smithpoint County Park in Shirley. The statue was vandalized, but instead of disposing of it, members of the Summit’s Beautification Committee arranged to have it donated to the Town. The Town Park’s Department made the necessary repairs, before the statue was placed at its new home in Osprey Park.
