Farmingville, NY - On August 6, the Town of Brookhaven will co-sponsor the Suffolk County Sheriff’s ‘National Night Out’ event at Fireman’s Park, 724 Middle Country Road in Ridge. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes law enforcement-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all 50 states.
This year’s National Night Out will be held from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. It will feature a barbecue, face painting, “Touch-a-Truck” sponsored by the Ridge Fire Department, the Town of Brookhaven’s Safety Town vehicles and the New York Rangers Street Hockey Team. There will also be a softball game featuring Suffolk County Corrections Officers and Town of Brookhaven staff members.
Sheriff Toulon said, “Councilwoman Bonner and the Town of Brookhaven have been great partners to law enforcement. I appreciate them co-sponsoring our National Night Out event at Fireman’s Park in Ridge, and for helping to make this event so welcoming for the community.”
