Farmingville, NY - On July 27, Councilman Michael Loguercio (left) attended a Daughters of the American Revolution-Colonel Josiah Smith Chapter event held at the Swezey-Avey House in Yaphank. The Councilman was there to present a proclamation on behalf of the Town to Navy veteran Marianne Folta (right), who was honored for her tireless service in a hospital taking care of women and infants. During the event, she shared her awareness of military women’s needs. Marianne is currently studying at Suffolk Community College, working on her goal to become a counselor for older veterans.
“Thank you to all those wonderful folks who volunteered to make this day a success. Events such as these are important in our community and are a great way to show how we will continue to support all our veterans,” said Councilman Loguercio.
