Patchogue, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman Neil Foley have joined with Patchogue Village Mayor Paul Pontieri to announce the resurfacing of North Ocean Avenue, Roe Boulevard, West Lakewood Street, Jennings Avenue and Howard Street in Patchogue.
This paving project was part of a shared service agreement the Brookhaven Highway Department entered into with Patchogue Village; the Highway Department paid approximately $245,000 for the resurfacing of four roadways, while the Village of Patchogue contributed approximately $37,000 for the paving of West Lakewood.
In preparation for paving, crews removed and replaced 525 linear feet of concrete curb, 1,876 square feet of concrete sidewalk, and 1,085 square feet of aprons. In addition, 890 square feet of ADA-compliant handicap ramps were installed. The total for this concrete work was approximately $78,000.
Superintendent Losquadro said, “Projects such as this are a great example of the Village and Town working together to improve our shared infrastructure in an efficient and cost-effective manner. I look forward to the opportunity to work together with the Village of Patchogue and other villages within Brookhaven Town in the future.”
Mayor Pontieri said, “The repaving of Lakewood Street is another example of how the Village and Town work together to improve the quality of life of our residents. I thank Councilman Foley, Superintendent Losquadro and the Brookhaven Town Highway Department for their efforts and I look forward to working on mutually beneficial projects in the future.”
Councilman Foley said, "I'm proud to stand alongside elected officials who come together in order to provide the best solutions for our community."
