Farmingville, NY -  On August 16, Supervisor Ed Romaine, Councilwoman Jane Bonner and Councilwoman Valerie Cartright were on hand to celebrate “Family Fun Day” at Heritage Park in Mount Sinai. The event was the kick-off of a year-long celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Heritage Trust, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to enhancing the distinctive character and natural resources of the surrounding communities. The Heritage Trust was established in 2000 to encourage the appreciation of, and the learning about, Mount Sinai’s environmental, historical and cultural heritage and to enhance a sense of community identity. Members of the board of the Heritage Trust and all committees are volunteers who devote their time and skills to the creation and maintenance of the park and community center.
