Farmingville, NY -  On September 25, the Town of Brookhaven Women’s Services Division will present the second session of “Career EDGE.” This program is designed to help unemployed and under-employed women gain professional skills, accelerate their job search and build confidence through weekly training sessions, one-on-one career coaching and networking in a supportive environment. The first session is Orientation, which is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18 from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Supervisor Ed Romaine said, “Career Edge is another fine program offered by the Town’s Division of Women’s Services. A job search can be a very difficult and stressful process, but with the right training it can really pay off by landing the right job. I recommend it for anyone who is looking for a job or a career change.”

The six-session program will cover:
•Strategies to succeed in today’s job market
•Customizing and composing your resumé and cover letters that will make a difference
•Work with a professional career mentor
•Navigating LinkedIn and other social media for job leads, and much more

Participants will also have the opportunity to work one-on-one with professional career coaches and build a personal network in a small, supportive environment with other women.

The Career EDGE sessions will be held in the second floor Planning Conference Room at Brookhaven Town Hall, One Independence Hill in Farmingville. The session dates are September 18 (orientation) and 25, October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 and November 6 (graduation) from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.
