Town Seal

Farmingville, NY -  Councilwoman Jane Bonner is teaming up with “Cell Phones For Soldiers,” a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing cost-free communication services and emergency funding to active-duty military members and veterans. Donations of devices allow “Cell Phones For Soldiers” to fund its three programs:

  • Minutes That Matter: Domestic Air Time - Provides domestic wireless minutes and phones to veterans, military personal and military family members
  • Minutes That Matter: International Calling Cards - Provides free calling cards to troops overseas to help connect to loved ones.
  • Helping Heroes Homes - Assists veterans with emergency funds to alleviate communication challenges, as well as physical, emotional and assimilation hardships.

Councilwoman Bonner said, “Our military men and women take extended time away from their families to ensure our safety. It is an honor to work with Cell Phones For Soldiers to provide them with a connection to their loved ones while they are serving and protecting our country.”

The drive will take place from September 15 through October 15. Residents can donate their cell phones at these four Brookhaven Town drop-off locations:
