Farmingville, NY - On September 4, Supervisor Ed Romaine and Councilwoman Jane Bonner visited VFW Fischer/Hewins Post 6249 in Rocky Point where they recognized Mary Ann Fox, who created the 112-page book “Proudly We Serve.” The book features interviews with veterans from World War II, the Korean War, the Cold War era and the Vietnam War. Ms. Fox was joined by several veterans who contributed stories in the book for her presentation to the audience. Supervisor Romaine said, “Thanks to Mary Ann and her book, so many veterans were able to share stories about the sacrifices they made to preserve freedom and liberty. It is important that their words are preserved, and they know we are grateful for their service, courage and patriotism.”
Councilwoman Bonner said, “Mary Ann is such a great patriot who has made a commitment to keep the stories of sacrifice, courage and honor alive for future generations. She reminds us how so many lives have been changed for the better because of what they did in every corner of the globe.”
