Farmingville, NY - On September 7, Supervisor Ed Romaine (right) and Councilman Neil Foley (left) honored Grace Rizzi-Gallipoli (center) for being named “Italian American of the Year” at the annual Italian Feast of Saint Liberata in Patchogue. At the event, the Supervisor and Councilman presented Mrs. Gallipoli with a proclamation naming September 7 as “Grace Rizzi-Gallipoli Day” in Brookhaven Town. The annual feast featured the traditional parade of the statue of Saint Liberata, live entertainment, vendors, bocce games and indoor and outdoor dining on Main Street. The Patchogue Italian Feast of St. Liberata was first celebrated in 1923.
