Town Donates Compost Tumbler to Dayton Avenue Elementary School in Manorville for Community Garden

Farmingville, NY – On March 29, Supervisor Ed Romaine visited Dayton Elementary School in Manorville to donate a compost tumbler to be used for their Community Garden. The students will collect lunch scrap items such as banana peels, apple cores and other food waste to be placed in the tumbler. The generated compost will be cured and the finished product utilized in the courtyard garden beds. Pictured at left is Supervisor Romaine (center right) with school principal Dr. John Christie (center left) with 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade students in the Community Garden.
