Losquadro, Panico Announce Paving of Moriches-Middle Island Road in Center Moriches/Moriches

Elected Officials Standing on Newly Paved Road

Center Moriches/Moriches, NY – Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilman Daniel Panico have announced the completion of a paving project on Moriches-Middle Island Road from Sunrise Highway to Frowein Road in Moriches and Center Moriches.

Prior to milling and paving the roadway, crews installed 373 linear feet of curb, 1,448 square feet of ADA-compliant handicap ramps, and 385 square feet of aprons at a cost of approximately $41,375. In addition, three new drains were installed to alleviate flooding issues in the vicinity of William Floyd Middle School. The total cost for this paving project was approximately $319,000.

Superintendent Losquadro said, “This paving project completes a three-year process in which Moriches-Middle Island Road has been completely resurfaced from Yaphank to Moriches. It is very rewarding to see the progress we are making as we move across Brookhaven improving infrastructure one project and one neighborhood at a time.”

Councilman Panico said, “The community appreciates the resurfacing of these roadways and I thank Superintendent Losquadro for focusing on this area.”
