Farmingville, NY - On Saturday, October 26, the Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center and the Animal Shelter Advisory Committee will present a free Animal Education, Care and Awareness Workshop at the Mastics Moriches Shirley Community Library. The event will run from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm. The workshop is geared to helping children better understand the proper treatment of animals in an age appropriate and entertaining way. The Mastics Moriches Shirley Community Library is located at 407 William Floyd Parkway in Shirley. Those who are interested in adopting a dog or cat should visit the Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center located at 300 Horseblock Road in Brookhaven. It is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
