Farmingville, NY - On October 17, Supervisor Ed Romaine and Councilwoman Jane Bonner visited Diamond in the Pines Park in Coram (left) and Heritage Park/The Wedge in Mount Sinai (right) where the Town of Brookhaven Parks Department installed new rubber safety tiles in the playgrounds. The funding for the tiles at Heritage Park was provided through a grant from the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) secured by State Senator Ken LaValle.
Supervisor Romaine said, “Town parks are a haven for families to enjoy, and the new rubber tiles make playing on the equipment safer. I applaud Councilwoman Bonner for her efforts to improve these two parks and the others in her district.”
Councilwoman Bonner said, “Upgrading our parks and recreation facilities is a top priority and I’m happy that we’ve been able to make it more fun and safer for the children who play here. I thank the men and women of the Parks department for all of their hard work to get the improvements done at these playgrounds.”
