Farmingville, NY - Brookhaven Town Supervisor Ed Romaine (third from left), Councilman Dan Panico (third from right) and NYS Assemblyman Fred Thiele (second from right) recently joined in congratulating Center Moriches Boy Scouts from Troop 414 who achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. A special ceremony to mark the honor was held at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Catholic School in Center Moriches, on Saturday, October 26th, where each scout was presented with an official Brookhaven Town proclamation for their outstanding efforts.
Eagle Scout Thomas Luongo built garden boxes at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church. All the food grown in these gardens are donated to the parish’s food drives. His brother, Joseph, constructed a decorative sign for Center Moriches Library at the rear entrance. Kenneth Schneider renovated sheds for Suffolk County Master Gardens by replacing siding, doors and ramps. Angelo Nicholes made a storage unit for alter clothes and vestments for the local Lutheran Church.
