Farmingville, NY - On November 23, Supervisor Ed Romaine stopped by ShopRite in Patchogue to make a donation and thank JVC Broadcasting for co-sponsoring the Brookhaven INTERFACE annual “Food Fight Against Hunger” food drive. JVC Broadcasting’s roster of five radio stations, including Party 105, My Country 96.1, La Fiesta 98.5, LI News Radio 103.9 and Oldies 98.1 battled each other to see who could collect the most food. Over 7,400 lbs. of food was donated at the two-day event, including 626 lbs. of turkeys, as well as $620 in supermarket gift cards and $572 in cash. Supervisor Romaine said, “The success of the INTERFACE Food Drive shows just how generous Brookhaven residents are. Thanks to JVC Broadcasting and our INTERFACE program staff and volunteers, needy families across Brookhaven will enjoy a Thanksgiving meal in the true spirit of the holiday season.”
The INTERFACE program provides a variety of goods and services to those in need through volunteerism and generous donations from our partners. The Town greatly appreciates the efforts of the volunteers and the generosity of Town residents who donate to all these worthy causes. For more information, visit the Youth Bureau Web page.
