Farmingville, NY - On November 12, Councilman Michael Loguercio (second from left) joined PSEGLI volunteers and Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk sponsors and partners to kick off the construction and renovation of a home for a veteran and their family in Bellport. Habitat for Humanity is an international, non-governmental, and nonprofit organization which was founded in 1976. It’s mission is to build "simple, decent, and affordable" housing, and has addressed the issues of poverty housing all over the world. This home represents the 173rd completed by Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk since 1988.
Councilman Loguercio said, "This is a wonderful project that I am proud to be a part of. Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk has been a wonderful partner, and this is another great example of that collaboration. It was humbling to see the large group of hard-working PSEG-LI volunteers that came to volunteer their time. I am looking forward to the ceremony when we hand over the keys and provide a beautiful home for a well deserving Veteran and their family to enjoy for years to come."
