Councilwoman Bonner Celebrates Shoreham Wading River HS Blue Ribbon School Designation

Farmingville, NY - On December 17, Councilwoman Jane Bonner visited Shoreham Wading River (SWR) High School to celebrate with teachers and administrators the school’s designation as a National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. The National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content.

Councilwoman Bonner said, “Shoreham Wading River High School has long been recognized locally for being an outstanding school. Now, this designation as a National Blue Ribbon School confirms it. I congratulate the school board, administrators, teachers and the students for their role in receiving this great honor.”
