Farmingville, NY - Supervisor Ed Romaine has announced that the Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau’s INTERFACE Program’s 2019 Holiday Toy Drive and Thanksgiving Food Drive helped a record number of families in 2019. The Toy Drive provided toys for 1,416 families in need and a total of 8,008 children. The Thanksgiving Food Drive provided hearty meals to 1,165 families in need and a total of 5,242 residents. Both are record-breaking numbers for the two programs. In addition to the families served, the Youth Bureau also donated food to several churches and food pantries within Brookhaven Town.Supervisor Romaine said, “I want to thank everyone who generously donated to the INTERFACE Toy Drive and Thanksgiving Food Drive. These programs are successful because of the thousands of kind-hearted residents and community minded businesses in Brookhaven Town. I also want to thank the Brookhaven Youth Bureau for working tirelessly throughout the year to help our residents in need.”Councilman Michael Loguercio, the Town Board Liaison to the Youth Bureau, said, “Once again, Brookhaven residents and businesses have risen to the challenge of helping those in need. This effort goes beyond toys and food. It lets residents know there are people in the community who care about them during difficult times.
