Supervisor Romaine Announces Youth Bureau’s 2020 Coat Drive is Off to a Great Start

Farmingville, NY - Supervisor Ed Romaine has announced that the 2020 Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau INTERFACE Coat Drive is off to a tremendous start. As of February 4, 1,500 coats have been collected, as well as many winter hats, gloves and scarves. The items, generously donated by residents, will be sent to shelters, churches and agencies that will distribute these items to residents in need. Pictured left to right are Housing and Human Services Commissioner Alison Karppi, Supervisor Ed Romaine, Youth Bureau Intern Lianah Waite and INTERFACE Coordinator Josephine Lunde.

Supervisor Romaine said, “Brookhaven residents always rise to the occasion when presented with an opportunity to help those who are less fortunate. I want to thank everyone who donated and the Youth Bureau for their efforts to help those in need throughout the year.”

This year’s coat drive started on January 13 and will run through February 14. Donations can be dropped off at the following locations:

● Brookhaven Town Hall, One Independence Hill, Farmingville
● Brookhaven Highway Department, 1140 Old Town Road, Coram
● Henrietta Acampora Recreation Center, 39 Montauk Highway, Blue Point
● New Village Recreation Center, 20 Wireless Road, Centereach
● Rose Caracappa Senior Center, 739 Route 25A, Mount Sinai
● Moriches Bay Recreation Center, 313 Frowein Road, Center Moriches
