[ARCHIVED] Town and Teachers Federal Credit Union Announce 2020 Recycling Events Partnership

Farmingville, NY - On February 10, Supervisor Ed Romaine and the Town Council accepted a $2,000 check from, Brad Calhoun, President and CEO of Teachers Federal Credit Union (TFCU) to co-sponsor the Town’s 2020 recycling events. This is the sixth consecutive year that TFCU has partnered with the Town. Each year the Town holds recycling events that include paper shredding, e-waste disposal and a supervised prescription drug drop-off program in every Brookhaven Council District. Pictured at the press conference (left to right) are Councilwoman Valerie M. Cartright; Councilman Michael Loguercio; Councilman Dan Panico; Supervisor Ed Romaine; TFCU President and CEO Brad Calhoun; Councilman Kevin LaValle; Councilwoman Jane Bonner and Councilman Neil Foley.

The 12 recycling events to be held this year will help residents properly dispose of sensitive documents which, when improperly discarded, can fall into the hands of identity thieves. Besides the green benefits of shredding and recycling paper, the Town and TFCU value the security benefits. Residents can also get rid of e-waste and expired prescription drugs in an environmentally safe manner. These recycling events are open to all Brookhaven Town residents and small businesses.

For more information, call 451-TOWN (8696) or visit our special recycling Web page. Residents are urged to bring the following electronic items to be recycled:
