Farmingville, NY – This weekend will be the last time this season that the pump out boat and pump out station will be running in Port Jefferson Harbor. Town crews will be working all three days this holiday weekend (October 7, 8 and 9) and they will make routine trips into Setauket Harbor each day. Over 18,000 gallons of boat waste was pumped out this boating season in Port Jefferson Harbor and Setauket Harbor as the Town has been advocating for an aggressive pump out policy. Supervisor Romaine said, “Port Jefferson and Setauket harbors are cleaner because of our policy and extended season, which I instituted last year. I thank all the boaters who worked with the Town to keep our waterways clean.”
