[ARCHIVED] Supervisor Romaine and Councilman Loguercio Thank Residents for Response to 2020 Coat Drive

Town Seal

Farmingville, NY - Supervisor Ed Romaine has announced that the Brookhaven Town Youth Bureau’s INTERFACE Coat Drive collected more than 2100 coats, and numerous pairs of winter boots, hats, gloves and scarves. The items, generously donated by residents, have been distributed to several shelters, churches and agencies. This year’s coat drive ran from January 13 through February 14.

Supervisor Ed Romaine said, “The Youth Bureau helps so many of our residents in need during the winter months which are especially difficult for those who do not have a warm coat. Or, sometimes it’s the small things that mean so much, like a pair of gloves or a warm wool hat on a freezing cold day. It’s all about being a good neighbor.”

Councilman Michael Loguercio, Town Board Liaison to the Youth Bureau said, “This time of year, I am always reminded how generous people can be when others are struggling to get by in the cold weather. I thank the Youth Bureau staff, volunteers and all the generous people who helped make this drive a tremendous success.”
