Farmingville, NY - On March 7, Councilwoman Jane Bonner (right) and NY State Assemblyman Anthony Palumbo (left) attended the Court of Honor ceremony for (left to right) Michael Furio; Larry Davis Jr.; Jared Sayler and Patrick Serrentino from Boy Scout Troop 204 in Miller Place. To become an Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America, a scout must earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, demonstrate leadership, and perform an approved community service project. The new Eagle Scout Projects included:
Michael Furio and Jared Sayler each organized, raised funds, constructed and installed a bench along the Greenway Trail from Setauket to Port Jefferson.
Larry Davis, Jr installed gutters and leaders on the roof of the Town-owned Nature Center at Cedar Beach.
Patrick Serrentino provided much-needed maintenance to a statue of the Blessed Mother at Saint Louis de Montfort Church in Sound Beach
Councilwoman Bonner said, “Congratulations to Michael, Jared, Larry and Patrick for completing their projects and achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. These four young men are the leaders of tomorrow, and from what I can see of this outstanding group, we’ll be in good hands.”
