Farmingville, NY - The Town of Brookhaven has been notified that the NY Blood Center has canceled all remote location blood drives through April 30, including the April 9 event at Brookhaven Town Hall.
The Town of Brookhaven strongly encourages all healthy donors to make an appointment to donate blood at a NY Blood Center. Blood collection sites are disinfected frequently, and extra precautions are being taken to help prevent the person-to-person spread of COVID-19 as per Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations. NY Blood Center staff are also practicing health self-assessments prior to presenting at work. Hours have recently been adjusted to reflect the increased need.
