Farmingville, NY - In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Town of Brookhaven Receiver of Taxes Louis Marcoccia and Supervisor Ed Romaine have announced that Alternate Tax Collection Operations will begin on Monday, April 27 and run until June 1 (senior citizens with Enhanced STAR exemptions will be able to pay through June 8). Picture at left is the Town Hall drive thru map and at right is the entrance to the Parks Administration building with white social distancing markers on the sidewalk.This schedule is subject to change should Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone or New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo alter the collection schedule. The Alternate Tax Collection locations are:•Brookhaven Town Hall, One Independence Hill, Farmingville 9:30 am -- 4:00 pm Drive Thru Service Only/ No Cash Accepted•Town of Brookhaven Parks Administration Building, 286 Hawkins Rd., Centereach 9:30 am -- 3:30 pm Walk up window with social distancing pavement markings - No Drive Thru. Cash is accepted at this location.Please be aware that due to reduced staffing, wait times could be substantial at these locations.All persons paying at these locations must wear protective face covering or mask to cover the nose and mouth.As we continue to work together to overcome COVID-19 by practicing social distancing, residents can still reach the Tax Receiver’s office by telephone and email and we will respond to your inquiries. Tax payments can also be made in the following ways:•ONLINE is a safe and reliable method to pay from the convenience of your computer, phone or tablet device. The Tax Receiver has worked with the vendor to cut the fee in half to 75 cents. Credit card payments remain at 2.35 percent of the amount charged, a fee which is charged by the vendor, not the Town. Go to www.BrookhavenNY.gov/PayTax•MAIL is a reliable method of payment, as the postmark date is used to determine your payment date.
